FEDERAL BUDGET.
MELBOURNE, April 27. It is anticipated that the Federal Budget, which is to be delivered shortly, will show a- more satisfactory position than was anticipated. The Customs receipts are already jn excess of the estimates, and oilier sources of revenue have also proved elastic. This, combined with substantial reductions in expenditure, is expected to produce a j surplus.
