MEREMERE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

At the conclusion of the School Committee meeting we held a discussion on the unveiling of our soldiers' memorial monument, Mr. Anderson in the chair and Mrs. Anthony secretary. The unveiling ceremony will take place on May 2, at 2.30 p.m., when we will expect to see everyone in the district present. The monument, which is a very fine piece of work, does Meremere credit, and, of. course, the contractor. A working bee has b«en formed to put the grounds in "apple" pie order —and, by the way, that "apple pie" reminds me that the ladies are putting on afternoon tea, which will be served after the ceremony.
