Coal has been strilck in the Kiwi shaft, near Brurmerton, at a depth of 114 feet (states the Greymoiith. Star), j Boring operations have been m progress ' for some months. A sample of the coal inspected was of good, hard quniity.. The seam, which, is expected to be about 12ft. thick, is on the old Tynesule lease, and is a continuation of cfis wel-knou'n Brunner seam. The discovery will give a fillip to mining in the district, and it is hoped to provide work for about 70 men when the seam is opened out. Good for young and old is Sh:}?land 's Fluid Magnesia.
