(From Our Own Correspondent.) The members of the Eltham Ladies1 Croquet Club brought their season's play to a close last Saturday. Pla 5 %% ati° f- m -> being pro yided on the lawn. Inmng the afternoon a mystery prize was given and created a great bLLJ + ami-fm^ nt-. The membership had increased to the fullest ea?oT £ H°U he laVl ns > the competition too, had been most successful, the playl ers reaching a- high standard of efhciency and on tho whole had shown SSS mtl resi f - T^ lawns had been in good order for the season, but hopes were entertained for a still further improvement, as they were (receiving further^ attention and top-dressing The president, during the course of her remark^ was pleased to announce that Mrs C. H White had presented an emergency" prize to be played during next week. fe _The members of the club at the close of the competition indulged in a little practice at bowls In view of the forthcomine match with the bowlers on Easter Monday. In this art the ladies did not prove experts. The results of 2? - 31 s play will ne looked forward to with interest.
