SOLDIER SETTLEES

WELLINGTON, April 13. A deputation of soldier settlers from Manawatu waited on Mr. W. F. Massey ;»nd Mr. D. H. -Guthrie to-day, tirging that relief be given, as they were in difficulties. They wanted a remission of rent and a revaluation of their holdings.. The Prime Minister and Mr. Guthrie pointed out that revaluation could not be made under a three-yearly period. They stated that the present was not a timejbo ask for a remission of rent, as no one could tell what would happen in the future. Mr. Massey asked the men not to be disccotiraged, as there had been a worse time in the country before..
