/ i The season has now started in earnest and all clubs are Arranging their teams for the champioriship and getting their men in form by practice games. In general, cluDs are fairly strong and many good* contests are assured. Hawera will have most of last season's players, with a sprinkling of new biood. Quite a number of good players from other provinces have come to Taranaki this year, and the clubs will be the stronger for their services. The two^ Ifwersons (from Auckland) have joined up and will be playing with Opunake. .Clifton have a smart, hefty forward, Tancred, erstwhile a Northern Union representative,s who toured Australia last year. He shapes like a champion.
