HAWERA CLUB.
Matches for the A and B Ferns were played on the Hawera green yesterday. In the A Ferns the holders were successful after a close and interesting game by 4 points, the scores being: Holders (Herbert, McDonald, Corkill, W. Robertson) 29; challengers (W. Graham, Winks, Burgess, E. Hicks) 25. The B game went to the challengers by a margin of 5 points. Scores: Challengers (Patterson, Kobinson, J. Champion, H. Blake) 26; holders (Craft, Cumiold, Sharp, Barrow) 21.
In the Buttons match on Saturday an exciting game resulted in the challengers winning by the small margin of one point. ' Scores: Challangera (Payne, Barkla, Adamsou, A.. Robertson) 22; holders (Black, Allan, Maslin, Eeed) 21. The play-off for the champion singles took place yesterday, and resulted in a win for Jas. Foy, with C. Eobb as runner up.
