A SURPRISE PARTY

A ve.ry pleasing little function in tn« shape of a surprise party took place at the Methodist parsonage on the 23ra. The members of the Young Peoples' Bible Class joined forces with Riverlea and Awatuna and surprised the Rev. and Mrs Avery, when a most enjoyable evening was spent by all. musical items, games and competitions being the order of the evening. During the evening the young folk presented the Rev. and Mrs Avery with & very fine travelling rug as a marh. of appreciation for the good work done by the departing couple.- The Rev. and Mrs Avery are shortly leaving Kaponga for Waitara, and will be greatly missed by all. especially the young people, with whom both are exceedingly popular.
