SCHOOL MATCH.
A cricket match, between Pißama and Kaponga schools was played last week, and resulted in a win for the Pihania boys by an innings and 37 runs. Pihania batted first, and made 84, to which Kaponga responded with 40, and, following on, were only able to put on 7. A feature of the match was the performance of a Maori boy (Rangiriwa), who carried his bat for 51 in Pihama's only strike, and took eight wickets for three runs in Kaponga's second innings.
