FRANCE AND BRITAIN.
MR LLOYD GEORGE'S 1919 MEMORANDUM.
BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT
(Received March 27, 9.25 a.m.) PARIS, March 26. Ihe Echo National publishes M. Clemenceau's Note in reply to Mr Lloyd George's 1919 memorandum, in which M. Clemenceau pointed out that to think of appeasing Germany was a pure illusion. The French policy was to help the new buffer States between Russia and Germany. M. Tardieu, in the Echo, adds that Mr Lloyd. George was greatly irritated by this Note, and replied to it three days later, but M. Clemenceau deemed it useless to make a rejoinder.
