A young man entered a Chinese fruit, erer's shop and asked for cigarettes, and was told they were not for sale. A disturbance followed, concerning which reports are conflicting, but as a result a man named Grahame had his hand severely cut by a knife, said to have been wielded by a Chinaman. The little finger was almost severed and Grahame was removed to the hospital.
