CHRISTCHURCH, March 24. lhe Canterbury ram fair concluded today, when studs were offered. The sale was disappointing, the bulk of lots being passed. Long wools were almost entirely neglected. Downs and Corriedales being the only breeds meeting with free competition. Top prices, which were only for a few special entries, were: Komneys 7gns.. English Leicesters 23 gns., Border Leicesters 21 gns., Southdowns 23 gns.. Shropshire 15 gns.. and Corriedale 101 gns.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 22nd mst.:—Tallow: Fine mutton 42s 3d per cwt , good beef 41s 3d mixed 365; market quiet. N.Z. Frozen meat: No change in market. Lamb 10id per lb new season's ll^d; wether and maiden ewe. light 7jd per lb, heavy 6*d per lbewe, light old per lb, heavy s*d; beef' ox. hinds 4kl. fores 2ld;'cow, hinds 6ld, fores 2d.
