WHAREROA

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A very pleasant evening was spent in the Whareroa Hall last Thursday, the occasion being the "coming of age" of Mr. Charlton Robertson. Friends were present from all round the district, and the time passed all too quickly in dancing, cards, and singing. The dance music and accompaniments were played by Mesdames Benton and Quinn and Mr. Murphy (violin), while songs were given by Misses Robertson. Bauchop, and Hicks and Messrs Saul, Robertson, Jacks, and Steffert. Mr. Saul's mandolin solos were also much appreciated. As r~/ual Mr. B. Bloor made a splendid M.O. The hall had been prettily decorated by friends, and a sumptuous- supper was laid out on tables beautifully decorated by Mesdames Hicks and Robertson. Several toasts were*'proposed and duly honoured.' Me.. R. Hicks, as & very old friend, had much pleasure m congratulating and in tvishing long life and happiness to Mr. C. Robertson, at the same time eulogising the many good qualities of the Robertson family. "Mr. C. Robertson suitably replied,'thanking all for their good wishes. Mr. G. Murphy proposed a toast to Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, which was respond^4*te by Mr. Robertson, who thanked all for their various kindnesses. Then Mr. M.
