WEDDING
CHISHOLM-FRISTON
A pretty rainbow wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Hawera, ©v December 21st, 1921, when Sedman A. Chisholm, of Stratford (late of Ha--wera) was married to Ellen Marion Friston, of Hawera, the Rev. H. 13. Gray performing the ceremony. The Ijride, who was given away by Mr J. H. Corrigan, looked charming in a simple draped frock of soft cream satin finished with a silver girdle, while the long narrow train was lined with sheii pink and caught at the shoulders with tiny sprays of orange blossoms. Her veil was worn with a circlet of orange I>lossom, and she carried a sheaf of -white roses. The bride was attended hy five bridesmaids. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Inez Purser, wore a dainty frock of gold shot taffeta with large tulle hat to match and bronze shoes. The tiny maids, Barbara and Lesly Chisholm (nieces of the bridegroom) and Patricia and Shirley Nowell, wore sweet little frocks of net and georgette in shades of pale pink, lemon, apple green -and heliotrope respectively, with wreaths of silver leaves on their hair, and all carried tiny posies of contrasting shades of flowers. Mr Alex. Corrigan carried out the duties of best man. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, and Mrs Ivor John officiated at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at "The Oaks," the residence of Mr and Mrs J, R. Corrigan, Hawera, from where the happy couple left by car for the south.
