ENGINEER'S DEATH.
.' f WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. ! - An inquest was held to-day regarding the death of Edward Fitzgerald Gould, the, American engineer who was found dead outside the Empire Hotel at an early hour 09 Saturday morning. Deceased was about 38 years cl .*&>> and fell from a window of the third-floor of the hotel. Evidence was fjjven that„ deceased was a man of regular habits/ and on Saturday night at 11 o'clock was in good health and perfectly gober. The window of the room was open to the fullest extent, and* the blind, which was drawn, was tori* wad the bottom crushed, probably .caused through being caught hold of." The, window sill was about two feet -from the floor. The bed had been -used. A verdict" of accidental death was recorded. The coroner suggested that the licensee should have bars put across the win Hows. /-" ' g
