William Allan HopMns, formerly a land agent and now bankrupt, appeared oa remand at the Magistrate's Court to-day on four charges of theft of moneys entrusted to* him. Counsel ior accused stated that Hopkins was I broken in health, body and spirit. It was not intended to offer any defence to the charges. Accused was further ; remanded till Friday.
