SCHOOL FOOTBALL
(From Our Kormanby Correspondent.) I A public meeting was held in the Town Hall oa Thursday to consider .making a presentation to the Normanby School football team, which this year won the Taranaki championship. Mr. '. W. G. Poole was voted to the chair, and briefly explained the object of the meeting, and suggested that each boy should receive a framed photo of the team and an enlargement should be placed in the school hall. To this the meeting agreed, and the following committee was elected to make arrangements for a concert and to collect funds towards th« presentation: Messrs "W. G. Poole, C. J. Preston, W. Tait, A. and G. Galloway, C. and A. Paine, Mitchell, Grant, and Tippett, Mr. Mitchell was appointed secretary. It was decided to hold a concert at a date to be fixed when the presentation 'shield is available," promises of ( assistance being given by local resi- . dents, and the school children are to be asked to give some items. Subscrip-tion-lists will be sent out immediately, and it is hoped there will be a liberal response. :_ Messrs Galloway Bros, donated £1 Is, as>aiso did Mr. Preston, for which they received a vote of thanks. I. All interested in football will no doubt help the proposed presentation to the boys
