The weather appears likely to be cloudy nd. unsettled. Rain pro*bable. The "barometer has a rising -tendency, but falling again- shortly. .Seas moderate; tides poor. During the past month permits have 'been issued by the borough inspector for buildings of a total value of £2046, "including two dwelling houses.
The borough abattoirs report for the past month shows that stock was slaughtered as follows: 27 bullocks, 47 cows, 4O heifers, 9 calves, 636 sheep, 18 lambs and 56 pigs. One bullock and one pig> were condemned. Fees ,-and Tents totalled £102 Ss Bd, the fees (£93 12s) bbing £8 7s 3d more than in "September, 1&20: The total, fees for the sis months ended September 30 were £74 7s 7d in excess of those for the corresponding period of the last financial yea*- '',''-
