Advices from Melilla state that a column of 6000 Spanish troops, surprise* by Moors, are strongly entrenched, with two guns, near Casabona. The Moors were mown down by the Spanish guns, but there was much fierce hand-to-hand fighting lasting ten hours. The Moors fled eventually on the approach of Spanish reinforcements.
