The offer of the Canterbury Progress League to maintain the daily delivery "Of the rural mails during the pe.iod of the railway "cut" has been declined b y "the Postal Department pending furth'^r eonsidetration. The League, which : had arranged a complete service of in- ■ ward and outward mails for all districts affected on Saturday, has been -advisd that the Department Is -unable uto; accept the offer.
