NAURU PHOSPHATE

INTERESTING EXPERIMENTS

Mr. F. Gillanders reported at a meeting of the general committee of the A. and. P. Association yesterday that Mr. J. W. Deem, Government field, instructor, has spoken to him with reference to trying an experiment of Nauru phosphates at the showgrounds, for which the Government had donated 5 <3wt. He and the president had arranged for a trial on about three acres, one with Nauru phosphates, #ne with basic superphosphates, anJP'tme with basic slag, and another without any manure at all. The result would be of considerable interest to farmers. For the purpose of the experiment Mr. Gillanders donated -5 cwt. basic superphosphate. A resolution was passed thanking Mr. Gidlanders for his gift of basic super and Mr. Deem^ through whom the Nauru phosphates were obtained.
