DODGING TAXATION

The Taxation Commissioners levied a four hundred million kroner income tax upon a string of Hungarian horses entered for Austrian race meetings, and planned to seize the race~horses as security. The owners heard of the plan just in time to rush the animals in motor lorries over the Hungarian border during the nighttime. ■The commissioners pursued them in motor cars,' but the horses reached the border first.
