_. ■._; • TOKIO, Aug. 10. ±ne JNavy Department announces that tn e personnel will be reduced 20 per ■cent, on September 1, consequent on four battleships and twelve cruisers being transferred from the active list to coast defence. This is in pursuance of a decision to reduce naval expenditure.
