B2 CABXi'S— IBESB ASSOCIATION-CO PYBWHT LEIPZIG, July 11. - Generals yon Shack and yon Kruska, charged with causing the. deaths o* French prisoners in 1915 at NiederZwehren, have been acquitted. The French witnesses have" been withdrawn. ■ ' An Alsatian interpreter testified that precautions were not taken to prevent the spread of spotted typhus, introduced by verminous Russians. V°n •j Shack proved he was not responsible, ;• and Kruska pleaded that it was then not known tliat vermin carried disease. He was ordered to mix the'prisoners for the purposes of local labour, and ■ he was personally not responsible. Doctors treated the victims for bronchitis, and several attendants on the doctors' personnel died from the same disease.
