LONDON, July 9. The two Gunns and Carr are Notts County, cricketers. The attendance after the tea adjournment was 10,000. Bardsley was caught at the wickets, and if the field had been properly set Mayne should,have been caught from a miss-hit when 24. Hoare, with underhand lobs, was the bowler who suffered. The fielding was better than in some of the counties. Mayne drove and hooked well. Armstrong, with Ryder, took the toijal to 333 and was then caught at short slip. He was only in an hour and a half" and made several powerful drives and got eleven fours, but looked very tired half-way through. Ryder could not be dislodged, and went on to play his best innings of the tour. He was never in doubt and exhibited splendid off driving, and with Hendry as companion reached his century in 105 minutes. Oldfiefd, who came in at 451, scored rapidly. He hit the lob bowler clear out of the grounds over the fence into the gardens. Stumps were drawn at 483. Remaining scores: AUSTRALIA. Armstrong, c G.
