r WELLINGTON, July 5. 'Further replying to Mr. ArbucWe (secretary of the Miners' Federation), Mr. Bishop (acting secretary of the Mine Owners' Association). referring to the question of accommodation for miners on the West Coast, states that to-day there are 25 more men employed at Blackball than on May 1, and these men are accommodated, while there are still several empty cottages in the town. Mr. Bishop further points out that in 1920 632 men were employed at Millerton and Denniston, while the total in 1914 was 1146.
