At the top of the Mam Hall, Messrs Thos. Borthwick and Sons have one of their characteristically fine displays, occupying practically the whole of £h«i room and. very artistically set out. I Mssrs Borthwick and Sons have also started,catering for the Colonial meat market, and have a full range of all kinds of meat in. all sized tins. They are securing an extensive connection for canned meats, and have also re- : commenced curing bacon, supplies of j which are now available. The firm has retained the services of the same excellent curers that they had in previous seasons, and as a consequence they are experiencing a heavy demand for their well-known bacon and hams. They are showing an extensive range of their tinned meats on their stand at the show, such as boiled and roast beef in 21b tins; corned beef in 1, I£, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 61b tins; sheep j and pig tongues in 12oz tins; roast, boiled and corned mutton and brawn ' in 21b tins, and a case containing an assortment of all the above-mentioned tinned meats. r The excellent bacon display includes sides, green and smoked; rolls, green and smoked; hams,.cured in the ordinary way and boned hams- Lard is also shown in lib pats aVid in bulk, and a very excellent bakers' dripping, now extensively used by a number of bakers in Taranaki. This article can be highly recommended for all tasty cooking- A small quantity of neatsfoot oil is available for sale by this firm. In regard to fertilisers, it will interest farmers to know that Borth- , wick's are now able to offer excellent bonedust, blood and bone, or mixed manures at greatly reduced prices. These have been specially prepared for Taranaki soils, and have yielded splendid results wherever used. The reduced prices at which they are now available will enable the farmer to take full advantage of excellent fertilisers in competition with basic slag at its present high figure. Messrs Bothwick and Sons have also their customary supplies of sausage skins and weasands. Setting off their pleasing display at the show, this firm is exhibiting a case showing the various wools properly classified. This should prove of very great interest to sheep farmers. Altogether the exhibit is one of the features of the Winter Show, and a great credit to Messrs Borthwick and Sons.
