CORRESPONDENCE. MR. FARMER. DEAR SIR,—You will no doubtbbye y visiting Hawera during the present week. While at the Show, you will agree with me that it would be or great advantage to you to learn, how to keep your, herd healthy during the coining season. . You may remember that during an address delivered to the Jersey Breeders' Association by Mr. W. R. Wood, M.R.C.V.S., on November 30, 1920, he stressed the fact that it was a "bad practice" for farmers to use medicines indiscriminately. In th<* course of that address he said:— "A" true study of medicine is impossible without a knowledge of bacteriology." "Cattle doctors are not" qualified veterinai'y surgeons, properly trained." < Xl am a great believer in preventive measures, as preventive medicines are of. prime importance." At the Show you will find a display of the late Major C. R. Neale's Veterinary Medicines. As you know, the late Major Neale was a fully qualified veterinary surgeon of high standing, having gained his degree as M.R.CV.S. at Edinburgh University. You will be gratified to learn that, although his services are now lost to the farmers of the ditsrict, his remedies are still available for their use. The efficacy of Neale's Remedies is testified to by Mr. G. F. Moore, the well-known breeder residing at "Bushy Park," Kai Iwi. He says":— "I have much nleasure in testifying to the efficacy of the late Major Neale's Remedies, and can confidently recommend them to anyone whose stock require treatment wrfchin their scopp I consider that by Major Neale's death this coast sustained a very great loss (S<id.) G. F. Moore." Neale's Remedies are manufactured solely by the undersigned, who will have much pleasure in Introducing them at the Show to any visitors who are not already familiar with them. \ Yours faithfully, n A ?!ir°- POWLING. M.P.S., Qualified Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Chemist, High Street, Hawera.
