KAPONGA v. ALTON
In spite of the wet slippery ground some very good football was experienced in the match ibetween Kaponga and Alton juniors. Kaponga in the first spell put up 12 points, and things looked as if it was going to be a very one-sided game, but in the second «pe!r Alton -woke up and notched; *fcwo trie* in fairly quick succession, and for * time had "tarings pretty well their own. Tvay, but Kaponga again pulled themselves together 'and made - the. game more open, getting in some fine passing rushes, but no further scores resulted. Burton scored two tries and Brown one, none of which were converted. Burton also dropkicked a penalty goal. For Alton C. Barclay and Hodge each scored a try. Kaponga Alton 6. Mr Guy refereed.
