CLIFTON (20) v. PATEA (5).
Patea went to Waitara and suffered defeat by a wide margin of points. Play was pretty even until well on in the first spell, when Clifton scored three tries, Fuller, Goodwin, and Hickey getting over the line. In the second spell they made play fast and added eleven points more. Goodwin, Taylor, and.Boss scored tries, of wliich Oolman converted the first; while for Patea Crompton scored under the posts, F. McKenria converting. Mr. F. Hooker was referee.
