The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co-, Ltd-, Hawera branch, report:— , On Wednesday we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mks Cross and Mrs Walsh, Opunake. There was a good attendance, bidding was* fairly brisk throughout, and a very successful sale resulted. The herd of 80 cows" averaged £12 10s. We quote: Best cows £lg~to £20, good cows £14 to £17 10s, old and inferior sorts £8 to £1~2, cows (in- milk) £5 to £10 10s, Jersey weaner heifers £5 12s 6dj. others £2 Is, steers 27s 6d, 'bulls £3 to £6, weaner pigs 7s.
Oh Friday at Palmer road we had a g*M yarding. The whole yarding was ■iialPsed of under '■ the hammer at prices on.a par with late rates. We quote: Fat cows to £6 13s, forward cows £2 17s to £4 ss, others at market value, wsaner heifers £2 to £3, lambs (medium) 10s 10d, bulls 21s to ißyfy. -.-_■■■
