PREMIER'S CONFERENCE
ANGLO-JAPANESE TREATY
BY CABLE—PRE 33 ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT (Received^ July 2,, 9.50 a.m.) ~ LONDON, July I. The Daily Chronicle says that yesterday's conference discussion on the Anglo-Japanese treaty took a form of :the greatest importance and"1 coincides with similar discussions at the Cabinet meeting. A: question has airisen'which should^ be the subject of international communication, whether it is possible to have a general: discussion between the United States), British and Dominion representatives, and Japan, ■with the object of securing-. a triple agreement on the renewal of the Anglo- * Japanese treaty.. If this is possible—? aiia the hope that it is is strongly entertained—a nd the "United States and Japan brought to an agreement through the medium of the British : Empire, a great step, would have been * taken to establish the peace of the world and pave the way to1 an international agreement on the subject of disarmament. As a subsidiary matter the°treaty may be extended for three months to give an-opportunity to arrive at a triple agreement.
