HAWERA TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL v. PATEA ROVERS.

An interesting match was played on the Patea Domain on Wednesday between .teams representing the Hawera (Technical High Schol and the Patea 1 Rovers XV. The visitors (says the Patea-Press) were a fine sturdy lot of boys, and played with rare combination and dash, with the result that they defeated the local boys, by 23 points to nil. The" game was played in "the best. of spirit—there belong an entire absence of rough play, both teams playing hard, but clean games. A feature of the play was the silence of the players, scarcely a word being heard from'first to last, ; a fact .that was due in no small degree to Mr. JF. McKenna, who refereed and T insisted on players playing the game in the letter and spirit.
