There was a very large attendance ot members of the Manaia branch of the Hibernian Society, being quarterly meeting, on Thursday, Bro. James Daley (president) presiding. Seven new candidates were duly elected. Before proceeding with the business of the meeting the president moved that a vote pf condolence be passed to the relatives «f the late Mrs H. B. Mc-V-icar, who had always assisted the branch since its inauguration. The vote of condolence was passed by all standing in silence. j It was decided at the meeting of the Hibernians on Thursday night that their annual ball will be held on Wednesday, July 20. The advertisement I will appear in the Star at a later date.
