Keen interest was displayed, and competition was very animated- Of 5800 bales offered over 90 per cent was sold to Yorkshire, .■j*nd--the. Continent was operating freely. The Americans were <juiet, as little ..: of the best wools they chiefly take was ] offered. Compared with closing rates " in March, prices for medium good merinos and fine crossbreds showed 10 ,-.., per cent advance, and medium to f~- coarse crossbreds were 5 to 10 per cent ' higher. Superior classes were un- •:-', changed. Greasy sold to 17$ d and scoured to 22£ d.
