BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT WASHINGTON, May 8. Irreeoncilfaible 'Republican Senators are astounded .by President Harding's acceptance of the invitation ito attend coherences of the Allies. They felt certain that President Harding had abandoned the idea of attempting (to modify the Versailles Treaty. Mr C. E. Hughes idSecretary of State) and Mr H. C. Hoover (Secretary off Commerce) are iblamed for influencing the President -to change his attitude.
Significance is attached to the President's adtion in securing the delay of the Senate resolution declaring the United Stfattes no longer at war wdlt'h Austria-Hungary and Germany.
