The City of Winchester, now at Wellington, should arirve at New Plymouth, on Thursday with about 700 tons of cargo loaded at New York, consisting of case oil and general merchandise. The City of Winchester is a vessel of 7981 tons, her length. 456 feet, beam 57ft. 9in.. and depth 31ft. She was built by Palmer and Co. at Newcastle (England), jn recent times for the EHe_ man Lines, Ltd., and is now under charter in the United States. She is driven by geared turbines. The steamer Maindy Lodge t is en route from Newcastle (N.S.W.) to New Plymouth with a cargo of coal. The vessel first visited New Plymouth earlier in the year. ' The small steamer Kennedy is scheduled to reach New Plymouth on Wednesday from AVellington,' with about 200 tqjLis of general cargo, including transhipments ex several Home vessels. The Piako left Dunediri yesterday for Bluff, Lyttelton, and Wellington to complete loading fdr New York, Boston, Liverpool, and Glasgow. Th© vessel is due at Wellington about May 17, and is to sail finally about May 25.
