A LIVELY SCENE.
iHoraxaoo—koij.vioossv &83HJ—aiar:^ Aa (Received Dec. 15, 11.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 15. In the Assembly, between sixty and seventy women, with babies in arms and toddlers, congregated in the corridors in an endeavour to interview Mr. Storey to seek relief over Christmas. Dr. Arthur convened the gathering with the object of emphasising the urgency of _ the Motherhood Endowment Bill, which the Government had jettisoned till next session. When the House met recriminatory exchanges took place between Mr. Storey and Dr. Arthur, the former say_ ing that he hoped the women whoi had been sent on a wild goose chase would flog Dr. Arthur within an inch of his life and wipe his shadowy,, miserable carcase out of existence. Dr. Arthur, retaliating, accused Mr. Storey of increasing members' salaries and abandoning the loudly promised Bill proposing motherhood endowment.
