On Tuesday afternoon, at Manaia, there was a large meeting of ladies of * Manaia and district, for the purpose of raising funds for Xmas gifts;to returned soldiers In military hospitals throughout New\Zealand.:lfr>was^decided that a collection wiH bartaken-up. in Manaia and district on they 21st December, in aid of soldiers'* gifts and; good cheer. A flower stall will beheldf in the Octagon on the same date, and as the object is a most worthy one,, everyone should do their best" to • make* the collection a great success. '
