A semi-official statement regarding j the outbreak in Mesopotamia says Rumaila (or Rumestha) is being provi-j sioned by aeroplane. VVe also got supplies by means of raids into the town, which is held by tribesmen. Raids against the; railway continue. British aeroplanes are bombing and machinegunning hostile villages and tribal concentrations. DELHI, July 17. i Military operations on the lower Euphrates continue. A brigade, under General Coningham, was concentrated in the Diwamyah .are.a, and communications were successfully restored between Basra and Sanawa by armored trains co-operating with defence vessels. A defence vessel recently had a sharp engagement with Arabs above Sanawa. There is considerable effervescence in the Shatiyah district.
