JOCKEYS' DISPUTE.

CHRISTCHKRCH, June 14. In reply to the statement by Mr Sheath, secretary ta£ ,the Jockeys' Association, Sir George Clifford states that fully 90 jockeys informed him that they have resigned from the association. As far as ie knows no individual jockeys have been threatened with severe or any punishment, and in this connection he nercer said, as stated by Mr Sheath, thai he ,would not recognise or confer with any association of jockeys; in fact, he has already conferred, but an association so constituted as the New Zealand Jockeys' Association, and adopting its arbitrary, methods, can in his opinion only be injurious to all concerned.
