COAL MINERS HAVE A DAY OFF.

AUCKLAND, May 13. There was no work at the Taupiri coal mines to-day, the miners contending that there were not enough trucks for a full day's work, and that it was not worth while going underground for half a day. The railway authorities at Auckland state that 98 trucks were ready at tie mines this morning, and that a sufficient number for a full day's output of coal would have been available before the afternoon.
