THE FIJIAN STRIKE
A DISTURBANCE QUELLED. (Aus.-N.Z. Cable Mm.) BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT SUVA-, Feb. 13. The Tutanekai arrived yesterday. There have been no fresh developments regarding the Indian strike. Minor noting has occurred, but nothing serious. The Legislative Council, at a special session, passed an ordinance, giving the Governor-in-Council <extended powers for dealing with civil commotion. The Food Commission has adjourned. SUVA, Feb. 13. In a riot at Nansori yesterday Indian strikers came into conflict with the military, who exercised the greatest restraint in handling the situation. As a result the mob was dispersed without any resort to arms.
