AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING STRIKE.
WHARF LABORERS REFUSE WORK.
MELBOURNE, Aug. 28. in the House of Representatives Mr Tudor stated that the report in the Age that members of the Wharf Laborers' Union had refused to work with loyalists was incorrect, as the men were displaying a spirit of compromise m the matter.
Shipping remains idle pending the wharf laborers' dispute. Negotiations are proceeding.
BRISBANE, Aug. 28. Ihe coal lumpers refuse to proceed with coaling operations on the wharves claiming that the engagement of labor should rest with the union instead of the coal contractor.
