SERIOUS EFFECT UPON LAMBING

Jhe autumn and winter lambing seasons proved largely a failure over the greater part of the State owing to the drought. In the autumn six and a half fw°^ u'f were mated &nd dropped 4, J20.000 Jambs, representing 63 per cent-.wwlle survivals for marking are only 47 per cent. In the winter 4,973 - 000 ewes were mated and dropped 2 948,000 lambs. It is probable that the. markings will be 2,112,000.
