FARMERS' POLICY
PALMERSTON N., Aug. 26. Ihe committee appointed at the recent conference to draft a. report am; nominate a commission to proceed to iLmgLand, has recommended inter alia, , r fol«>wing schedule of duties: Jo proceed to England to examine conditions and make representations to the Imperial Government concerning th« ISiew- Zealand meat trad© on the toTlowing lines: (a.) Thai the Imperial Government he urged to give Dominion mea.. priority of shipment and preference of sale over American meat purchased and still unsold by the Imperial Government: (b) that colonial meat he placed on the market at a price that will mean neather profit nor loss to the s*P«"ial authorities; (c) that the shipping of the meat, if possible, be further expedited and an assurance obtained from the British Government to this effect; (d) that the terms of theT?m miS r .X amended *> that on j June 30 next the New Zealand freez-1 mg companies shall become agents of the Imperial Government for the dis-! posal of our meat through legitimate' channels, subject Jo the wishes "of their, clients and the provision of clause 1 suh»-elause (b).
