HAWERA v. PATEA

Hawera seniors played a match witlt Pate a on Saturday and after a fairly close game won by 9 points to nil.

KAPONGA 111 (11) v. NORMANBY 111. (10).

The play-off at Manaia between these teams, who drew on the previous Saturday, was a keen and interesting contest right to the end of the match. The issue was in doubt until th© whistle blew, Kaponga winning eventually by the very narrow margin of one point. For Normanby H. Julian scored a try and kicked a penalty goal, and Palmer potted a goal. Kaponga crossed their opponents' line twice, one try being converted and also scored a goal from a penalty.
