N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.'S REPORT.
The New Zealand. Loan and, Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. (Mawera branch) report as follows: At Kakaramea on Monday, 18th inst., we had a good yarding and attendance of buyers, and business was transacted at the following prices: Store cows £6 15s to £8, forward 3year steers £li 15s, 2-year empty heifers £7 5s 6d, yearling heifers £3 8s to £4, mixed yearlings £1 10s to £3 7s, f.m. ewes and lambs 31s, hoggets 26s 3d to 325. The advertised springing heifers on account of Mr _S. C. Tonks were an exceptionally choice lot, and best Jersey sorts made £20 to £26 10s, others £14 5s to £18 10s. On account of other vendors springing heifers made £14 5s to £22 10s, dairy cows close up £13 10s to £21.
At Eltham on Wednesday we had * fair yarding, and satisfactory prices ruled throughout. We quote as fallows: Fat cows £10 5s to £11 2s 6d, forward cows £8 12s 6d to £9 Bs, store cows £7 4s to £8 Bs, 2-year empty heifers £6 ls to £7 14s, good line of do, £8, yearling steers £2 15s to £3 lis, yearling heifers £3 7s to £4 17s, springing heifers (backward sorts) £7 to £12 10s, dairy cows £15 10s to £21 10s.
On the same day we held a clearing sale at Normanby on account of MiRichard Burke, when there was a large attendance of buyers, and good prices were realised throughout. Best dairy cows made £20 15s to £29 10s, others £14 to £3 8 ss, springing heifers £16 15s to £18 10s, bull £29, milk cart horse £20 ss, sow close to farrowing £23 10s. sow and litter £19 10s, boar £8, store pigs £3 ss. Sundries and household furniture sold exceptionally well.
At Hawera on Thursday we held our usual fortnightly sale, when we submitted a good average yarding. Practically everything was disposed of under tbe hammer at the following prices: Good forward cows £10 to £11, others £8 3s to £9, store cows £6 to £7 15s, 2\ to 3-year steers £9 6s, yearlings (mixed sexes) £2 to £4, yearling steers £2 19s 6d to £4, yearling heifers £3 2s 6d to £3 ss. f.m. ewes (culls) 9s 6d, fat hoggets 36s 3d. others 19s 3d, to £1 I2s 9d, mixed aged empty ewes 245. In, the dairy pens springing heifers made £12 to £16, dairy cows £12 to £17.

j Opunake yards on Monday we held a . special horse sale. There were 75 horses • yarded, mostly draught and milk carters, and we report a successful sale. Heavy draught horses £27 10s to £3S. i aged draughts, £18 to £22, milk cart^ ! ers £17 to £25, hacks £7 to £10, uni broken draughts £15 to £23. I Opunake yards on Monday w re held our usual fortnightly sale. There was a full yarding of cattle of all descriptions, and prices were well up to late sales. Dairy cows £10 to £17, springing heifers £10 to £19 10s, backward heifers £7 to £9 10s, forward conditioned cows £10 10s to £11 15s, store cows £7 to £9 10s, three-year-old steers I £11 12s 6d to £13 19s, 2-year-old steers i £7 5s to £7 16s, yearling steers £4 10s :to £5 ss, yearling heifers £3 3s to £4 ! 15s | On Monday, at Tnglewood, we held a ! clearing sale of Mr W. A. Jellyman's live and dead stock. There was a good i attendance, .and everything sold well. Best dairy cows £20 to £27, others £12 to £19 10s, and the sundries, etc., sold well. ' . ' > On Tuesday, at Manaia, we held our usual sale. There was only a 6mail yarding of store cattle. Prices were good. Store cows £7 10s to £10, yearling? 30s to £3 3s, springing heifei-s £13 to £21. weaner pigs 23s to 355, store pigs £2 12s to £4. On Wednesday, at Inglewood yards, we held our usual sale. There was a, good yarding of stock of all classes, and everything sold at fully ruling prices. We quote: Ewes in lamb 27s 2d to 36s 6d, hoggebs 23s to 30s 3d, fat cows £13 15s. store cows £7 to £8 10s, empty heifers £5 10s to £7 2s, yearling heifers £3 3s to £4 18s. yearling steers £3 3s to £4 12s, dairy cows £10 10? to £15 15s. springing heifers £8 to £12. On. Thursday, at Inglewood, we held a clearing sale of Mr V. Schriler's live and dead stock. There was a good attendance, and prices were the same as late sales. Yearling steers £4 12s 6d. vending heifers £5 31s, dairy cows £8 10s to £13 10s. At Auroa, yards on Friday, at our usual iale. there wa s a small sale, and good prices were realised Good forward cows £12 5s tho £13 7s fid, stove cows £6 13s to £9, yearling heifers £4. yearling steers £4 los, springing heifers £13 15s to £20 10s.
