RETURNED SOLDIERS

SMOKE CONCERT

The committee set up by the Egmont Racing Club, in conjunction with the secretary, Mr Stratton, to arrange for a smoke concert to returned isoltiiens, are busy making such, arrangements as will ensure a thorough and undoubted success. A very good musical programme, under the* direction of Mr T. C- Gormley, will be given, and all arrangements will be of the best possible. The number is expected to be very considerable, a general invitation having been issued to all returned soldiers in the district to be present. The function will take place on Wednesday next, July 30, in the Winter Show Buildings.

The following returned soldiers reached EWham yesterday afternoon; Privates Garmonsway, Slater, Shuttleworth, Stephens. The Mayor (Mr G W, Tayler) officially welcomed the men home.
