RIFLE SHOOTING

A meeting of delegates of the various rifle clubs in the Taranaki province was held in the Soldiers' Club New Plymouth, on Friday. Amongst the most important remits t?-fl foyaaded to the New Zealand Rifle Clubs' executive in Wellington were: "i'hat assistance to rifle clubs in the upkeep of targets be given." This applies principally to country clubs "That in lieu of the class firing course, members of the clubs who are efficient shots undertake the instruction of junior members an'l senior cadets in ps-acticaj musketry, the necessary ammunition to be supplied fiom the annuad issue to those units, club members to use their own methods of instruction."

"That the privilege of railway warrants to club teams for the purpose of attending matches or association meetings be restored."

"That in regard to return of fired cartridge cases, the clubs bp placed on the same footing as in 1914." "That rifles be supplied to the clubs as soon as there are any available." The question of organisation of adjacent clubs into centres was held over until the next meeting which, as there is every possibility of the Taranaki Rifle Association annual meetings being revived, will be held then.

Mr Milks was elected chairman of the organisation, and Mr Armitage secretary.—News.
